Hola!

It seems that our favourite Mexican holiday just arrived. Day of the Dead is celebrated in Mexico during the days of 1&2 of November. Although, the Day of the dead is one of the most characteristic Mexican celebrations, in the last few years people confuse it with Halloween, which is a celebration that comes from the religious customs of the Celts and which, although it has the same theme as the Day of the Dead, is more a celebration of witchcraft. Its symbolic items - the pumpkin for instance - are different from the ones found during the Day of the Dead celebrations, most noticeably the skeleton of Catrina . It is believed that during the days of the festivities the dead come to visit their reltives again, when they greet them with avidity and love. The cognizance of the Mexican about death, which is expressed characteristically in their traditional art, combines respect with humour.
