What does fashion really mean to us?

They say that clothes speak before you do, and from a specific perspective it is true that our style says a lot about ourselves - regarding attitudes, our beliefs and even our character. For example, some models are used to going braless, in order to express their feministic values, etc. Furthermore, from the way we dress, people around us can easily understand our hobbies, our preferences and our mentality...

It is really impressive how the fashion changes from place to place. For instance, in India the most common dress is the saree (which I believe most of you have not even seen). It also changes dramatically depending on the period. For example, in the past people used to rip the skin of the animals they had haunted to make their own clothes. Now none of us personally kill an animal in order to make clothes. (At least I hope not...). If we look at the differences in dress between us and people from another country, or from another era, we will understand that our beliefs influence our style. The infamous burkini which recently hit the headlines is one such point.

All these influences create the different styles we find today. Its unique soul in this planet has its own style, its own way of transferring an emotion into a piece of fabric. The enviroment that we all share in this global village creates common emotions that we can personify and recognize on a piece of fabric.
